Friends, yay!

So Alison and David are here and it is very exciting! I'm at work right now but they stopped by to pick up my keys so they can hang out at my apartment while I finish up here at the theatre. They are already falling in love with the city of brotherly love from the sounds of it. I feel bad that I don't have a clean room for them, my night last night ended up being a bit crazier than I'd anticipated.

Speaking of last night, holy crazy 25th Anniversary Party City Paper. I was only at the official party for an hour because I had to work at the Walnut but I made it out for a bit and then we moved the drunkeness to Bonners, an Irish pub that was just down the street from the 23rd Street Armory where this crazy-tacky ridiculous party occurred. There's nothing like throwing a few a lot of beers with my favorite friends (JLo&Luke, Megan&Matt) and a new friend Will---a recent addition to our lovely editorial intern team. Will and I stuck around for a long time and ended up chattin it up with some of my favorite's from CP, (BH, Pat, Mark and Mike). It's always funny to see your bosses drunk, I love it. I ended up nabbing a $2 cab ride from a nice old cabbie, Jimmy who took pity on my drunk self sitting at a bus stop at 3 a.m. Cheers to you Jimmy!

As for tonight, it sounds like I'll be enjoying some delicious mimosa variations with Ali Kay and David. I'm looking forward to a night of lounging in my room, listening to music, drinking and most importantly chatting and spending time with some of my favorite people! There's nothing like a familiar face (or two) to make a place feel cozy.
And just like the last time I had company (3 different visits over a period of 10 days), when it rains it pours...but in a good way. On Tuesday I will be playing hostess to a bumbling band of 4 fellas in a---well, a band. The kids of Starling Electric from Ann Arbor will be in town and making use of my bedroom floorspace, they have a show on Tuesday opening for Robert Pollard from Guided by Voices at the World Live Cafe, go see them play if you live in Philly. That's an order.
