Spring Brings Life

This morning at 3:50 a.m. my sister-in-law Julie gave birth to her first child, Jack William. He is 7lbs 6oz and apparently has lots of brown hair. He's my second nephew, almost exactly a year younger than my first nephew Joshua who turned 1 on Feb. 28.
I will probably see Jack for the first time in April when Jim and Julie visit our parents in Michigan. I will, of course, spend the money to fly up to Bath, MI for a weekend if it means I get to meet my nephew for the first time.
Tomorrow I board a train bound for DC. I'm looking forward to some time to relax and think on the trainride and some time to explore alone in the city before I meet up with Alison, David, Megan and Mike. It will be so great to finally see where they live as well as going to fun places in DC with them. It's been too long since we've been together.
Beth made me a mix cd for the trip. I can't wait to listen to it after I board the Carolinian at 8:48 am tomorrow morning.
