An Old Playground Injury

Last night I took a good tumble. I've been putting off the re-heeling of my boots for a long time because I am lazy. They are worn down to the plastic and don't have any real traction. There have been multiple instances of nearly taking a tumble and finally last night just as the thought of "I really should take these in to the Walnut Street Shoe Guy" went through my head, swoop and I'm down. I fell like a girl going to her knees to pray. I had on leggings and so not only did I take the fall on two knees but I proceeded to then slide like a rockstar in that position resulting in said skinned knee as well as a very fancy hole in my leggings.

I was meeting with JLo for her birthday and so I tried to remedy the broken pants with a band aid on the inside to hold the hole shut (I should definitely get MacGyver points here folks) and it lasted me until we got to the bar. I proceeded to the bathroom where I managed to roll (yes roll) my leggings just right so that they looked totally normal and the hole was covered by a second layer of material (I am so good).

The rest of the night was a good time. Megan and Matt and Luke joined us later in the night and then we ended up running into Zach Pontz (a fellow intern) as well.

My bus ride home was an interesting one. Two men far more intoxicated than myself (though I was definitely not sober) were speaking with me on the bus and one of them said something that alluded to sex and I got really angry and said something to the affect of "IS THAT HOW YOU SPEAK TO WOMAN, TO A LADY?" and gave them the evil eye and moved to the back of the bus. While sitting at the back of the bus I realized that a few seats ahead of me was Will, another one of our intern crew at the paper. We chatted for a moment but it was time for me to get off the bus so it was very brief. Two run-ins with people I knew in a night starts to make me think this city isn't as big as I was thinking!
