Most days we're in this boat together

When the tide rushes out the people left behind on shore feel miles away. The waves swivel and sway beneath your rigid hips like tremors and take shelter in space between left and right, in the curve of your pelvis. It is there where we sit and stand and flow, together...Until the lines between bodies blur and blend and arms and thighs and ankles and ears disperse into a single breathing lung. We move up and down and in and out. Some days there is congestion clogging our pathways, pushing us further out to sea and seemingly further from our lovers on shore, further from the beating hearts that roll in time with the rise and fall of our feeble fleshy breathing machine. In and out, up and down, rise and fall, ebb and flow. We come and we go but we are never alone because the tides eventually rushes back in again and viens tangle, lung nestles next to heart and we remember that most days, we're aren't alone. Most days we're in that boat together pining for the shore.
