I've heard this story before

I'm walking in circles all the time but sometimes I take a night to throw back enough that I think maybe I've fallen gracefully out of the pathway. But when my vision refocuses, I realize, I was wrong and I'm still wearing the soles of my shoes while I cut through the grass leaving barren stretches that connect so perfectly making a circle. Lap after Lap. What am I doing?
