Out of my Gourd

I go crazy sometimes. A lot of people don't know this about me but I get a little psycho, have urges to drive for hours alone and escape into nothingness. Since I don't have a car I couldn't drive to the shore like I'd wished. Instead I wandered the streets of Philadelphia alone for an entire day. I ate a solo lunch at a sushi bar, putzed along South Street like a tourist and then stood on the South Street bridge that spans the gap of the highway and got lost in the buzz of traffic for a good 20 minutes.
It's hard to explain the piece of mind I found in the buzzing of those little piles of rubber and metal but it felt comfortable to be there, suspended above the trails of trucks and caravans and minivans. I walked along the Delaware for a bit and then stumbled upon two different veteran memorial parks that I didn't even know existed. I then read for a while about Picasso and eventually saw "No Country for Old Men."
I didn't want to talk with people so much as I needed to be invisible in their midst on Friday.
I bought paint brushes.
Mama needs to paint.
